Hold tight Hi there!
About us

Founded in Amsterdam, working internationally at the intersection of risk, regulation, and execution.

Our Philosophy

Our Ambition

To become the reference boutique for non-financial risk - known for theoretical knowledge and a pragmatic approach.

Since our inception, we have grown more than 150% for two years in a row, supporting banks, technology firms, and critical infrastructure providers - always prioritising substance over size.

Our Mission

To create trust in a digital world - by translating complex regulations and risks into clarity, control, and confidence.

Our Vision

We believe that risk management should enable decision-making - not slow it down.

In a world of increasing regulation and digital transformation organisations need clarity, not unnecessary layers of documentation.

We aim to redefine how risk functions operate: from reactive control environments into proactive, structured decision support.

Partners.

Robert Dreyer

Robert Dreyer MSc RO is a Partner at Risk Boutique, where he combines his regulatory expertise with structured execution in complex organisational environments. He operates at the intersection of operational risk, IT risk, audits and transformation. This allows him to support financial institutions and other regulated organisations in translating regulatory requirements into practical and sustainable operating models.

Robert began his career at PwC, where he gained extensive experience in financial and integrated audits for banks, insurers, and large corporates. He subsequently held senior roles at ING and Royal Schiphol Group across all three lines of defence - as internal auditor, operational risk manager and programme lead. This breadth of experience enables him to approach risk and governance challenges from both an assurance and a delivery perspective.

As a Registered Operational Auditor (RO), Robert is particularly experienced as a programme manager within financial institutions. He has led complex remediation trajectories, regulatory implementation programmes and compensation initiatives, aligning Legal, Compliance, Risk, and business stakeholders while safeguarding structure, transparency, and control integrity. He is accustomed to operating in environments shaped by supervisory scrutiny and tight deadlines.

Within Risk Boutique, Robert is responsible for the firm’s financial domain, overseeing financial structuring and governance. He is also actively involved in Risk Boutique Interim Solutions, contributing to the alignment between advisory services and the deployment of senior interim professionals.

Robert is typically engaged in situations where regulatory expectations, governance requirements, and programme delivery must be brought together in a disciplined and well-structured manner.

Edouard van den Heuvel

Edouard van den Heuvel MSc MBA RE is Partner at Risk Boutique, where he combines strategic vision with hands-on execution in non-financial risk. He operates at the intersection of IT risk, operational risk, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance, supporting organisations in navigating complex, technology-driven and highly regulated environments.

Prior to founding Risk Boutique, Edouard worked at PwC within the Digital Trust & Risk Assurance practice, gaining extensive experience in IT audits, internal control assessments, and regulatory compliance engagements for large, internationally operating organisations. This background underpins his structured and pragmatic approach to governance, risk, and control.

He has broad experience across retail, financial services, and fintech, and supports institutions in strengthening control frameworks, resolving supervisory findings, and embedding sustainable risk management in fast-moving environments. As a certified IT auditor (RE), he combines regulatory depth with pragmatism and translates complex issues into clear, decision-ready insights for senior management and boards.

In parallel, Edouard is completing a PhD on the strategic repositioning of IT auditing in a fast paced, cloud-driven world. His research examines how the IT auditor’s role evolves beyond traditional compliance, addressing shared responsibility models in cloud environments, sector-specific regulation, and the tension between speed, innovation, and assurance. The overarching theme centres on how audit functions can remain independent and relevant amid accelerating digital transformation.

Within Risk Boutique, Edouard focuses primarily on operations and delivery, safeguarding quality and consistency across engagements and ensuring close alignment between advisory services and the deployment of high-calibre interim risk professionals. Outside his professional activities, he serves as a national hockey umpire in the Dutch Hoofdklasse.
